We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our friendly and passionate Young Carers team, helping us make a difference to the lives of disadvantaged or vulnerable young people, within our local community.
Young Carers Lead for Tendring
Working with Young Carers aged 8-18
£22,725 per annum
Fulltime
Location: Tendering (Hybrid working with office base in Colchester)
This post is full time 35 hours per week over 5 days with potential need to work evenings and weekends
Fixed term to March 2025 (continuation subject to funding)
This role is a fantastic opportunity to work with Young Carers and support the development of Young Carer services in Tendering
Your role will be to deliver a high quality support service:
- To lead on the identification of needs for Young Carers and their families in Tendering
· Understanding of the strengths and gaps in local provision relevant to Young Carers and their families
· Directly delivering a caseload of one to one and group support for and with Young Carers in schools and other community settings
· Acting as a local advocate for improving Young Carer outcomes including via active participation in local networks and forums
· Establishing positive working relationships with key local stakeholders e.g. schools, colleges, health and social care providers etc.
· Supporting the positive transition of Young Carers as they become Young Adult Carers
You will need to be:
- Passionate about helping disadvantaged young people
- Skilled and experienced in working with young people, at least 6 months in an educational setting
- Experience of managing projects & complex cases including safeguarding issues
- Confident in working with groups and promoting the service
- Able to work in a diverse and challenging environment
