Aroma Therapies in South Woodham Ferrers
This Feeling Good, Caring Well (FGCW) event for South Woodham Ferrers was held at Champions Manor Hall on Wednesday 13th February.
Carers were treated to taster mini Hand Massages with Shirley and/or mini Foot Massages with Debbie – both of whom work and volunteer for Action for Family Carers. Carers could talk to Charlotte, a local Wellness Advocate about the use of Aromatherapy oils. Louise from Essex County Fire & Rescue Service popped by too, to be sure those that have not had their Fire Alarms checked yet were able to sign up.
For Carers who just wanted to ‘catch up’, lunch, tea and coffee were served by Cara and Julie ….adding to the “ ….. and relax” theme of the day.
Carers went home chilled from the taster treatments, with new friendships with fellow Carers, an FGCW information folder, and inside was free gift from Chelmsford CVS – a little something to stop us bunging up our pipes!
Julie Atkinson, Action for Family Carers Volunteer Co-ordinator commented that “the Carers attending the event were engaged in both the activities and the opportunity to meet others in a similar situation. They were also able to find out more about our other AfFC services offered too”.
