Feeling Good Caring Well Christmas Wellbeing Gathering
Time for Family Carers
Our Feeling Good Caring Well team hosted a festive Wellbeing Gathering on 10th December to give a little back to some of the unpaid family and friends who look after someone in our community.
The focus was on reducing stress and prioritising self-care: “Carers often put their loved one first and this can lead to 'carer burnout'”.
The event took place in the beautiful surroundings of Old Park Meadow near Dunmow. Over 40 people attended and enjoyed a sumptuous lunch with live music. Santa made a special guest appearance and gave gifts to each Carer.
We were blown away by the generosity of local businesses who donated goods and services for our Carers. PremCrew provided the lunch for the Carers at a discount for the charity. Donations from Benefits Skincare, Hotel Chocolat, Boots, Waterstones, The Body Shop and Clarins enabled staff to give goody bags and raffle prizes.
The Big Lottery funded project, 'Feeling Good, Caring Well', supports unpaid Family Carers across every district of Essex, including Southend and Thurrock – running free sessions for their emotional and physical wellbeing.
