We are blown away by the support that we have been given and are receiving during these challenging Covid-times.

Rachel Arnull has finished her 500km walk, which supported Young Carers, this week and has so far raised £770 with more donations still coming in.

Michaela Wingrove is doing a virtual walk from Lands End to John O’Groats. Here is the link to her fundraising page: https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fundraiser-display/showROFundraiserPage?userUrl=MichaelaWingrove&pageUrl=1.

Three members of staff from GJ Commercial Cleaning are raising money for us by climbing Ben Nevis in September: https://www.gofundme.com/f/ben-nevis-climb-for-action-for-family-carers

Jolaine Phillips is going to do the virtual London Marathon in October to raise money for Young Carers: https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fundraiser-display/showROFundraiserPage?userUrl=JolainePhillips&pageUrl=3.

During the first lockdown the Marshall family did a virtual mountain climb by calculating how many times they would need to go up their stairs to reach the same height as the top of a mountain. They then counted out pieces of lego, each piece representing 1 flight of stairs, they put these pieces in a box at the bottom of the stairs and each time they went upstairs took a piece of lego to the top. Mrs Marshall said that the whole family enjoyed the challenge and the children built a mountain out of the lego pieces.

Now that we can start to see an end to the restrictions, we will be planning ahead for events which will be held later in the year. To find out more about these, please follow us on Facebook or contact Jenny, jennifer.black@affc.og.uk, to be added to the events mailing list.
