It can be difficult for Carers to talk to friends and family about their caring role and Carers can often be socially isolated. Our telephone befrienders offer a listening ear and can provide understanding and companionship.
Our free volunteer lead service offers the opportunity to keep in touch with weekly, fortnightly or monthly befriending calls.
A women who considered suicide as she struggled to cope with looking after her husband say befriending services literally saved her life.
Valerie said “ I get a call once a fortnight which am always pleased to get. It gives me a chance to update them on anything and can really life your spirits knowing that someone really cares. They really have been a God-send”.
