Our Policies and Approach
We have a range of robust policies and procedures in place to safeguard people and promote ethical practice, including:
- Safeguarding Children and Safeguarding Adults policies and procedures, which set out our responsibility to protect vulnerable children and adults from abuse, exploitation and harm of any kind.
- Safer Recruitment policies and procedures, which follow best practice and include appropriate pre-employment checks such as identity verification and right-to-work checks in the UK.
- A Whistleblowing Policy, which enables staff and volunteers to raise concerns safely and confidentially.
- An Equality, Diversity and Inclusion policy, reflecting our commitment to fairness, dignity and respect. We do not tolerate discrimination in any form.
Action for Family Carers regularly reviews its policies and practices to ensure we maintain high standards of safeguarding, ethical conduct and accountability.
Staff Training
All staff receive safeguarding training, which includes awareness of organisational abuse, modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour and domestic servitude. This ensures staff are equipped to recognise potential indicators of modern slavery and know how to respond appropriately.
Supply Chains
We aim not to work with any supplier or partner that supports or is linked to modern slavery or human trafficking. As part of our risk assessment processes, we consider due diligence measures to reduce the risk of contracting with suppliers that do not have appropriate anti-slavery measures in place.
