After working in financial services for many years across marketing and strategic development roles, Brian left the corporate world to utilise his skills in the charitable sector. At the same time, he became a carer for his late Mother. It was during this period that he became aware of the tremendous strains, impacts and rewards of being an unpaid family carer.
Upon hearing about Action for Family Carers, Brian was keen to get involved to help others that find themselves in a similar position. Initially he spent a few months on a project with the Charity, working with the Board and CEO on their approach and future direction as the World emerged from the pandemic.
Throughout this project, his enthusiasm and interest in the challenges ahead only increased, so he successfully applied to join the Board and become the Lead Trustee for Business and Strategic Development.
Brian hopes that adding his skills and experience to the team at AfFC will not only be beneficial to the Charity, but to himself and more importantly to the lives of the hardworking carers.
