New support offer to unpaid carers in Essex from April
Action for Family Carers, in partnership with Essex Carers Support, have been commissioned by Essex County Council to deliver a support service for unpaid family Carers from 1 April 2024 in Northeast Essex (Colchester & Tending District) and West Essex (Epping, Harlow & Uttlesford).
From 1 April there will be a central contact point for unpaid carers incorporated into the Essex Wellbeing Service. Unpaid Carers will be able to discuss their own health and wellbeing needs as well as information about their caring role.
If more specialist support is required, they will be referred on to either Action for Family Carers (West and North Essex) and Carers First (Mid and South Essex) where they can access more specialist carers information, advice and guidance.
Action for Family Carers and Carers First will also provide help with practical solutions to address specific challenges, services for emotional wellbeing, and support carers to other carers in their communities for mutual support.
