Your voice matters. If you’re an unpaid carer in Essex, Carer Voice is your opportunity to be heard and to help influence the support that carers receive now and in the future. Action for Family Carers exists to support unpaid carers across Essex. To do that well, we need to listen to the people with lived experience – you.
Carer Voice brings carers together to share what works, what doesn’t, and what needs to change, helping to shape both our services and wider support for carers locally.
What is Carer Voice?
Carer Voice is a series of quarterly meetings where carers can:
- Share ideas, experiences, and concerns based on real life caring roles
- Contribute to the planning, review, and development of Action for Family Carers’ services
- Help influence wider systems and support for carers across Essex
Previous discussions have covered topics such as access to GPs and carer respite breaks, with carers’ insights helping to inform future work and conversations with partners.
How the meetings work
- Meetings take place quarterly
- You can join online or in person
- Face-to-face meetings come with the added bonus of tea, coffee, and biscuits ☕🍪
- Each session has a clear agenda and focus, with time to raise other issues and suggest topics for future meetings
You don’t need any special experience or knowledge – just your perspective as a carer.
By joining Carer Voice, you’ll be the first to hear about upcoming meetings, have opportunities to share your views, and play an active role in shaping support for carers in Essex.
Add your voice today and help make a difference for carers like you.
