Carers Week 2025: Caring About Equality

Jun 10, 2025General

Carers Week 2025: 9–12 June

Theme: Caring About Equality

Carers Week is a national campaign held every June to shine a light on the vital role of unpaid carers. It raises awareness of the challenges they face, recognises their contribution to families and communities, and helps those who may not realise they are carers to access the support they need.

This Year’s Theme: Caring About Equality

The 2025 theme, Caring About Equality, highlights the significant inequalities unpaid carers often experience. Carers are more likely to face poverty, social isolation, and poor mental or physical health. Many miss out on opportunities in education, work, or personal life because of their caring responsibilities.

At Action for Family Carers, we believe all carers – no matter their age or background – deserve equal access to education, employment, and social opportunities, with the right support in place.

Too often, unpaid carers feel invisible – even to those closest to them. We want to change that.

How We’re Celebrating Carers Week

Throughout June, we’ll be running events to celebrate carers, raise awareness, and help more people identify as carers and access support.

Afternoon Tea at our Carer Support Groups

Our regular in-person carer support groups in West and Northeast Essex (run in partnership with Essex Carers Support) will include a special Afternoon Tea during June. [Find your local group here.]
