At our Maldon Day Centre, we are always looking for new ways to keep the people we support active, entertained and engaged.
We also look for ways to make life a little easier for our staff and volunteers, giving them more time to talk to, listen to and support our clients.
And we are not afraid to try something new!
Bringing a little magic to the day
Thanks to some generous funding, we have been able to get a Magic Table from Social-Ability through its Happiness Programme.
The Magic Table uses interactive light technology to provide a range of games and sensory activities, designed for people living with cognitive and physical disabilities.
And it has already been a big hit!
Our clients, staff and volunteers have all given it a big thumbs up. 👍
With lots of different games and activities to choose from, we can use it with smaller groups and give everyone the chance to get involved. Best of all, it can be used whatever the weather!
More time for what matters
The Magic Table is another way for our team to bring people together, encourage interaction and provide meaningful activities.
It is also a great example of the thought and care our Maldon Day Centre team puts into making each day enjoyable for the people we support.
Supporting carers too
Our Day Centre gives unpaid carers a safe and trusted place to bring the person they care for, knowing they will be well looked after.
This gives carers time to work, attend appointments, take a break or simply have some time for themselves, knowing their loved one is enjoying their day too.
When we support the person being cared for, we support the carer too.
