A little movement, a friendly game, and a few shared laughs can make the world of difference – especially for older people and those living with dementia or memory loss. At our West Essex activity groups and the Maldon Day Centre, we see the benefits every day.
Gentle activity isn’t just about exercise. It helps in so many ways
Keeps the body moving – Even simple, seated exercises help maintain strength and balance, reducing the risk of falls and making everyday tasks easier.
Keeps the mind active – Games that involve coordination, concentration, or remembering rules give the brain a boost and help with focus.
Lifts spirits – Taking part in fun, social activities filled with smiles and laughter can ease anxiety and make people feel happier.
Brings people together – Shared games and chats build friendships and help everyone feel part of something.
And while our clients are enjoying themselves, family carers get valuable time for themselves knowing their loved ones are safe, engaged, and well cared for.
Clock Cricket – fun, friendly, and full of laughter
One of the highlights at our Activity Groups and our Maldon Day Centre is when Clock Cricket visits. Their sessions are brilliant – packed with games like seated cricket, new age kurling, boccia, and even floor basketball. Everything is designed to be safe, easy, and inclusive so that everyone can take part, whatever their ability.
But the real magic is in the atmosphere. There’s laughter, gentle encouragement, and plenty of friendly competition! For those living with memory loss, these sessions aren’t just fun – they create moments of connection and joy that really matter.
Come and see for yourself
We’re proud to work with Clock Cricket to bring these sessions to our groups. If you’d like to find out more or come along for a taster session, we’d love to welcome you.
