Not one but two of our brilliant Young Carers win ‘Young Citizen of the Year’ awards in West Essex!
Kayden was awarded the ‘Young Citizen of the year award from Epping Forest District Council. The awards recognise and celebrate people from across Epping Forest district who tirelessly work to support their communities.
Kayden,16, juggles the demands of studying for his GCSEs and being a Young Carer. Kayden also finds time to give back by volunteering at his Young Carer Club. Kayden’s school nominated him for the award, saying: “Kayden is a phenomenal person, he is hardworking, polite and supportive to his peers.”

Loughton Town Council also presented their ‘Citizens of the year’ awards and Frankie, at just 10 years old, won for his charitable work in the community. Frankie has raised funds for the Royal British Legion, Cancer UK and to buy musical instruments for his school. Frankie completed a swimathon and walkathon to help raise money.
The Town Mayor commented on “the incredible contribution Frankie had made to the people of Loughton. He was a real inspiration”.
Rosalind, our Loughton Young Carer Club Lead was honored to go along to one of the award presentations stating ‘I am beaming with pride’

Well done, Kayden and Frankie, everyone at Action for Family Carers is so proud of you.
