Action for Family Carers
A family Carer is someone who, without payment, provides help and support to a partner, child, relative, friend or neighbour, who could not manage otherwise. This could be due to age, physical or mental illness, addiction or disability.
Action for Family Carers is an Essex charity which, for 30 years, has been providing information and support for Carers who have unpaid caring responsibilities for others.
We are proud to hold the Carers Trust Excellence for Carers Award for best practice in services, advice and information for unpaid carers.
We provide a wide range of practical and emotional support including Information, Advice and Guidance, free Counselling, Day Care & Activity Groups, Peer Support Groups, small Grants, Young Carer Clubs and Trips and support for Young Carers in Schools.
