Action for Family Carers is a local Essex charity that for over 36 years has been dedicated to people who look after a family member or friend who couldn’t manage without their help - known as unpaid carers.
Whatever your caring role looks like, you don’t have to face it alone.
We support carers of all ages, from young carers and young adults to older carers and families. Our support includes advice, counselling, clubs and trips, whole family support and day care for older people.
We also work with schools, GPs and employers to help create more carer-friendly communities.
We are proud to hold the Carers Trust Excellence for Carers Award for best practice in services, advice and information for unpaid carers.
Our goal is simple: to make life a little easier for those who care for others.
It is estimated there are over 124,000 unpaid Carers and 10,000 Young Carers in Essex that need our help and support. Some Carers are as young as 5 years old.
Our services are needed now more than ever.
