I have lived in Great Baddow for 27 years but joined AfFC as a carer in 2011 and a trustee in 2014. I am responsible for Carer Engagement, Safeguarding Young Carers & Vulnerable Adults and all policies.
After studying chemistry at the University of East London I became a Licentiate of the Royal Society of Chemistry. I was a Laboratory Manager for Ford Motor Co. for 35 years and was responsible for the paint applied to all Ford vehicles in 23 plants in 16 countries.
I retired early from Ford to be the full-time carer for 12 years for my late wife who suffered from MS and 16 other co-morbidities so I know all about caring!
I was a school governor for 8 years and am now a member of the East of England Citizen’s Senate and sit on six committees in the NHS where I campaign for better carer support.
